Theodore Dalrymple is a doctor and writer. Much of his
early career was spent abroad. He practises in an English inner city,
and is also a prison doctor. He is a regular contributor to The Spectator
and The Daily and Sunday Telegraphs, and he has also written
for The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Independent and The
New Statesman in the U.K. He also writes regularly for the Manhatten
Institute’s City Journal and The New Criterion in the
United States. His last book, Life At The Bottom: The Formation of
Britain’s Underclass was published by Ivan Dee, Chicago.
